@Gusman In a way I agree with you. My house does not have central air conditioning. And the misery from summer heat in the recent years is truly unbearable. If I have to choose between the extreme heat of summer and the cold of winter, I'll take the cold. Still, my constantly freezing fingers drive me crazy. I'm wearing gloves with open tips, so the tips of my fingers still freeze, and it's so distracting that I don't accomplish much.
Oh, and the reason I just don't turn the heat up to where it's comfortable, is that my husband is determined to save money. And incidentally, he doesn't get nearly as cold as I do. Right now his hands are probably warm.

@Poppies I do not have air conditioning either
I keep the house as cool as possible by keeping the blockout curtains closed all day.
I have an awning keeping the sun off the front wall. Doors are surrounded with sealing tape to keep the hot air at night.
To sleep easier, I place 3 x 2 litre plastic water bottles behind a pedestal fan at the end of my bed.
I lay on top of bed, sans coverings and the fan draws cool air over my body
long enough to get to sleep🛏️
