The truth is, every viking is exactly like Hagar the horrible
NorthernRoses · 22-25, F
@JarJarBoom Haha almost, yeah.
Hmm I looked up the free form rap battles and found this "The winner would drink a large cup of beer or mead in victory, then invite the loser to drink as well.[5]" Now see, that's nice.

They had rap battles, you say?

@NorthernRoses im looking this up

@NorthernRoses Flyting is attributed to Medieval England and Scotland.
NorthernRoses · 22-25, F
@bijouxbroussard Naw, the etymological roots may come from old English, but Norsemen were always the main practitioners of it. It also only came full-on to Scotland around the 15th century, whereas it had been in Scandinavia way longer.
(I also believe it might be the etymological root for Norwegian "flyte" meaning "to flow" though I'm not sure. It'd be rad if it is though)

Why were they so well-known for “raping and pillaging” in other countries ?
chrisCA · M
@bijouxbroussard I believe many conquerors did that, the Vikings may just have been good at it.
bijouxbroussard · F
@chrisCA Right, I know they weren’t the only ones.
