People just really love romanticizing people in the past

Vikings were clean, had a complex democratic legal system, respected women, had freeform rap battles, and had child support payments

yet some people are like ahh... Vikings... scary scary

@bijouxbroussard I believe many conquerors did that, the Vikings may just have been good at it.
