Was Scott Emisten trying to out do Paddock?!!!

This maniac was stopped for speeding with more fire power than Paddock?! Is this a copy cat sicko?!!! I'm all for the right to protect oneself but do we really need semi automatic weapons ( that can be modified to full auto) for self protection?!!!

I had to look this up.

http://www.fox13memphis.com/top-stories/tennessee-man-stopped-with-900-rounds-of-ammo-automatic-weapons-in-car/618889976

Sounds like he certainly might have been on the way to kill alot of people. Not just guns and ammo in the car, but loaded weapons and FULLY automatic weapons as well.
While taking an inventory of the vehicle, they discovered a loaded .357 magnum, a loaded .45 semi automatic, a fully automatic AR rifle in .223 caliber, a fully automatic AR rifle in .308 caliber, over 900 rounds of ammunition, and survival equipment.
@Pherick Most disturbing isn't it?!!!!

@Shewolfiie69 I am actually amazed the police were able to bring him in without a gun battle.

He probably was another nut job. I don't see the need for semi-auotmatic weapons or items created to modify weapons into semi-automatic. Unless you are being attacked by a gang of 20 or more self defense is not a valid argument and it certainly isn't a good weapon to use if you are hunting.

@imLobo Do you understand what the words "shall not be infringed" mean?

@imLobo Lol, yes I have a firm grasp on what the 2nd amendment says and what it means. However, I've been in these debates enough to know it will go nowhere, so I won't continue to argue. Have a nice evening. :-)

Any firearm short of a single shot one can be converted to full automatic.
In WW2 Australia and New Zealand equipped troops with the Charlton light Machine gun such was a converted bolt action rifle.
John Browning experimented with all kinds of firearms in his design work. His first full auto firearm was made from a lever action rifle (a cowboy gun)

The current law is that an unregistered full auto weapon is 10 years in a federal prison and $10000 fine.

@imLobo yes you can.
My background Is mechanical design and I was a gunsmith in the US army.
I also collect firearms and study the history of them.

Most are not easy to convert and it's not at all legal But anyone with mechanical aptitude and the correct tools can do it

The M1 carbine was designed as a semi auto only rifle but the military created a kit to convert them to M2 selective fire rifles during the Korean war.

Look up the Charlton light Machine gun.

It was built from a manual bolt action rifle.

I said the only ones that cannot be converted are those that are single shot arms.

Anything else can be converted with varying degrees of effort.

@dunpender I understand what ur saying however, when u live in the boonies like me, it takes forever for police to get there in time to help or stop a crime from happening! Living in Texas and being female puts a different spin on it. I'm all for self preservation but I part ways on semi/ full auto weapons!!!!

@imLobo any citizen who lives in a state that permits NFA and is not barred from possessing a weapon (and can afford one) is legally permitted to posses an NFA weapon.
