Was Scott Emisten trying to out do Paddock?!!!

This maniac was stopped for speeding with more fire power than Paddock?! Is this a copy cat sicko?!!! I'm all for the right to protect oneself but do we really need semi automatic weapons ( that can be modified to full auto) for self protection?!!!

Any firearm short of a single shot one can be converted to full automatic.
In WW2 Australia and New Zealand equipped troops with the Charlton light Machine gun such was a converted bolt action rifle.
John Browning experimented with all kinds of firearms in his design work. His first full auto firearm was made from a lever action rifle (a cowboy gun)

The current law is that an unregistered full auto weapon is 10 years in a federal prison and $10000 fine.
@ArnoldJRimmer Thank you sir for enlightening me on that piece of knowledge! Again, that type of fire power is not necessary for personal protection unless there's a zombie apocalypse!!!

I can point out a few things that are missed in all this. The problem is most people don't want to hear it as their minds are already made up.

@imLobo yes you can.
My background Is mechanical design and I was a gunsmith in the US army.
I also collect firearms and study the history of them.

Most are not easy to convert and it's not at all legal But anyone with mechanical aptitude and the correct tools can do it

The M1 carbine was designed as a semi auto only rifle but the military created a kit to convert them to M2 selective fire rifles during the Korean war.

Look up the Charlton light Machine gun.

It was built from a manual bolt action rifle.

I said the only ones that cannot be converted are those that are single shot arms.

Anything else can be converted with varying degrees of effort.
