I Want to Tell You Something

I told one of my resource teachers today that if our generation and further up keep trying to make teens be more of adults, then soon enough there won't even be a "teenager" anymore. There could possibly not even be kids anymore either, considering they're also being made to do things most of us never had to do. I think everyone has a right to childhood. It's always okay to be taught new things, but teens and children should still get to be kids. Instead we might just teach them to be adults and only adults. Which I find sad since we believe there should be innocence, yet even that might disappear down the road. And it will soon enough if we keep going like this.

'Teenagers' have only really been around since the 1950's anyway.

@Quizzical but we're still young people that are learning. Some of us may not be able to handle all of the stuff adults want us to do. And the teens who are 7th graders will have to do a core 40 diploma AND get a job/work experience when they're in high school. A general diploma won't exist anymore, which will cause those with disabilities and special needs to do the core 40 and jobs as well. They could not even be able to graduate because of those expectations from the school. High school will end up being like a college in a few years basically.

@KandiGhostcat At least you're not up a chimney at six though 😊

@Quizzical is it because you always had one chore at 6 yrs. Old, and that was to clean the chimney?

I agree. Kids need to always be kids. They deserve that.

@geoam1 Yes, and that is kind of scary actually. I also once came to a conclusion that one of the reasons I might be craving parental love is because parents these days don't show physical love to their teenagers like they did in the past. Cause in the past parents would hug/cuddle and kiss their teenagers like they were still a little girl or baby boy. But now they hardly do it since they are too concerned about us becoming/acting like adults.
