And this, that reminds me of the atmosphere when I was a teenager in London...

@naughtyschoolboy It's not that unusual in my neighbourhood. Most of my friends were also spanked until they turned 18, and my friend Tanya was still spanked at 20. In most cases it was a belt or a slipper or a hairbrush on the bare bottom.

But I do know of 2 cases myself... both in 'Toff' circles. First of all, we are not guys, so please refrain from calling us guys. Second, Tanya was born in 1978 so she would have been 20 in 1998. She's a few years older than me.

It is certainly not restricted to aristo/toff circles. My neighbourhood is very working class and spanking still goes on here.

But you are in need of correction for the other thing, the 'Home counties' thing. I think it doesn't make sense to you because you don't quite get the grammar... 'who's' is not 'who is', it means 'belonging to'... it's possessive. So 'who's father' means I'm talking about her father who made her bend over for the cane.

But I'm very glad to know that spanking is alive and well in working class neighbourhoods, and that you girls benefitted from them... even at 18 and 20!

The word "who's" means "who is", with the apostrophe representing the missing letter. The possessive word is WHOSE. I can't believe I've had to explain that to someone older than 10. Where on earth did you learn English?

How could you not have known the difference between "who's" and "whose"? It's like "your" and "you're", one of them has a verb in it and the other doesn't, so that should make it obvious which is which.
