I Used to Get the Cane At School

When I was at school there was regularly a queue of boys and girls (mostly 4th, 5th and 6th forms) waiting to be caned for smoking. I was in the queue, along with a few friends, a few times myself.

I was never caned for smoking but got it once in the 6th form for truancy. Canings often took place straight after lunch and the "victims" had to wait outside the head's office where they could be seen from the main corridor. We often used to see who was in line for a whacking and if you were due to be whacked it was difficult to keep it quiet!

@Rebecca54 My boyfriend and I both got the cane in 6th form for leaving school without permission. We decided to skip the last couple of lessons hoping we wouldn't be missed. Unfortunately we were.

@Lynda70 That caning in the 6th form was the worse one I ever had - 6 real stingers!

@Rebecca54 My 6th form canings were on a par with those I received in earlier years. The main difference was that, 6th form canings were only for more serious matters so tended to all be "six of the best". In previous years I could get just two, three or four for less serious matters.

@Rebecca54 We had thicker longer canes as we progressed through the school. Did you? Is that why it hurt worse than previous canings?

@SW-User Yes - we had a thin whippy canes for 12 -13 year olds which stung - I had that one on my palms and a thicker one for older girls. That was always across the backside. I think it was the 6 strokes instead of my previous maximum of 3 which really hurt

@Rebecca54 Infeel sorry for you getting caned on the hands. I avoided that but did get the strap once and my hands hurt for ages.
Having only had three strokes previouslybthe full six would certainly have hurt as you describe.
I only ever got six or eight so would have loved only three strokes!

@SW-User being caned on the hands stung but looking back they were only fairly gentle taps. It was a talking point for a while - "what was it like?" etc. The six on the bottom were certainly full force!
