We were on a camping trip and I sent one of the girls to cut her own switch. She was so scared she was trembling, and she got about 50 feet and fainted. It was a hot day, so I'm sure that had something to do with it.

@MikeSp Did you let her off after that or let her recover and then make her cut the switch and tear her butt up anyway? I imagine the "fainting" may have been for your benefit to try and avoid her punishment. How old was girl in question and what had she done to earn a switching?

@DADDYDEAN General bad attitude and disrespect, and 14 at the time. She was punished after she recovered. I think the fainting was a combination of things. The heat, and the fact that she had seen others get it and heard stories, and was genuinely frightened of it. She never misbehaved on a camping trip after that, or got the switch again.
