We were on a camping trip and I sent one of the girls to cut her own switch. She was so scared she was trembling, and she got about 50 feet and fainted. It was a hot day, so I'm sure that had something to do with it.

@DADDYDEAN General bad attitude and disrespect, and 14 at the time. She was punished after she recovered. I think the fainting was a combination of things. The heat, and the fact that she had seen others get it and heard stories, and was genuinely frightened of it. She never misbehaved on a camping trip after that, or got the switch again.

Had to do that more than a few times when growing up in the 60's and ealy 70's. And sent my son or daughters to cut a switch too. Very unforgettable lesson isn't it?
