I Am A Strict Mom

Well hello everyone this is my first post here and I figure I should say hi in a most appropriate group.

I recently decided to send my kids to private religious schools and the turn around in their behavior and attitudes has been tremendous. The only issue of course was the fight to get them into their uniforms. They still do not like the uniforms and it's an ongoing fight but I do think they are learning they won't win this battle.

I think the uniforms are smart and emphasizes that they are there to learn not to show off for their peers. I am hoping next year it will be less of a struggle!

My children are homeschooled---but it is private, it is religious and there's no worry about showing off to peers! So you *could* say, the basics are very similar 馃槃

@Mindy1976: do they have a dress code Ma'am?
Mindy197646-50, F
@MrsPeterEvans: No, as long as they're learning and focused it doesn't matter to me :)

@Mindy1976: how many do you homeschool? How do you do ot?
Mindy197646-50, F
@MrsPeterEvans: Only two. The older one mainly steers herself now, she knows what she has to get done. My youngest still needs a lot of motivation and me sitting with her. We have a curriculum and do a mixture of subjects each day.

@Mindy1976: do you have a classroom etc? I teach Sunday School but can't imagine homeschooling even two!

@Mindy1976: Yes I can see that. I'm just glad personally that I found a school here that fits our values as a family. It gives me a break during the day to see to the home. I think overall it works out well. I totally trust the adults at the school to monitor and discipline my kids when needed
