Personally - My rules are pretty simple. Be respectful and come home at decent hour. If your not working, in school, or trying to "better yourself" then you are not lounging rent free at my place. Parents and teens, or 20's, are not suppose to agree on everything, it's natural.

@EatingCereal: A child that CAN'T follow the rules???? Unless you are talking about a child with mental impairments (for whom the rules are, of course, adjusted accordingly)they will receive the appropriate childish punishment -- whether it be spanking (which we do as a FIRST RESORT), grounding, etc.
