What are your thoughts on the CDC guidelines for not having to wear masks anymore?

I think the CDC is misguiding us on what we need to do about wearing masks. They said that they are no longer required but New York City (where I live) still wants us to wear them. I think we should still wear masks. Here are the reasons.

1. I feel like it's too soon to take them off. We can't just go from having to wear them for a very long time to suddenly taking them off.

2. You don't know who is vaccinated and who's not. The CDC said that fully vaccinated people don't have to wear masks anymore (except for if you're on public transportation), but the problem is you don't know who got the vaccine and who didn't. Some people who are not vaccinated may pretend that they got it.

That is just my opinion. I'd like to know your thoughts.

The CDC has guidelines, but no real control... also the CDC is part of the federal government, as such they need federal funding, which is approved by the United States legislators.

Some of those United States legislators happened to publicly call out the CDC while the CDC is trying to get their future budget plan in place... magical a change in CDC guidelines comes very very very shortly after.

I'm not saying it wasn't coming anyways, but I think the process might of been at minimum, sped up after the legislators got on them.
