Kids used to use spit to erase shared slates at school. Then there was a diphtheria outbreak, and we got rid of the slates.

Why get rid of the slates altogether? Because you tell kids to stop spitting on their slates, but they don't always listen! Now these days, what's gonna happen when you tell kids to stay socially distanced, wear masks, etc?

@curiosi As someone who's never had polio, chickenpox, measles, mumps, tuberculosis, etc. I know that vaccines are a thing and that not everyone will have to get COVID
