I Think Some People Care Too Much About Money

Empower yourself and your community - use cash for all in-person payments.

I am now refusing to give my money to any business that is refusing to accept cash payments. Under Australian Law (the Currency Act of 1965 specifically) refusing to accept payment via any lawful payment system is illegal.

Lot of places in the UK currently refusing to accept cash.
One of the ideas being that the virus could possibly be on it if it's been in circulation a while.

All of which plays into government and banks hands since they want everyone to switch to card payment anyway.
One of the reasons i refuse to shop anywhere insisting on it.

@m457189 I wouldn't mind so much but banks and governments are so untrustworthy !

Remember about ten years ago when they said Chip 'n pin was the way to go ?
The number of times i've just tapped my card over a reader and it gets accepted with no need for a pin entry !
Where's the 'security' in that ?

All it means is if somebody steals your card all they have to do is get products under £50 !

@Picklebobble2 Here in Oz the limit was set at A$100 for a pinless purchase. I think it was put up to like $200 as a result of the covid stuff, but you can bet it won't be lowered again.
