I Think Some People Care Too Much About Money

Empower yourself and your community - use cash for all in-person payments.

I am now refusing to give my money to any business that is refusing to accept cash payments. Under Australian Law (the Currency Act of 1965 specifically) refusing to accept payment via any lawful payment system is illegal.

My one miscalculation in this current sorry mess want that I figured a run on ATMs and slow resupply would mean a cash shortage, so I got ahead of the curve. Now I have an uncomfortable amout of cash laying about. But it is stopping my accounts ballooning because I'm not spending.

@whowasthatmaskedman there are stories (and I believe them to a point) that some people withdrew 10's or 100's of thousands in cash (obviously not via atm's), and in some cases millions as a 'personal hedge fund' against an ongoing global mass-hysteria pandemic. I wish I even had $10k in the bank.

@zonavar68 I know this will end. But a few $K seemed like a nice cushion if the banking system hiccupped. I guess its get the house painted time or spending money for a holiday. But right now its sensible to go with a card.
