I am now refusing to give my money to any business that is refusing to accept cash payments. Under Australian Law (the Currency Act of 1965 specifically) refusing to accept payment via any lawful payment system is illegal.

@yeronlyman I've already walked out of a Maccas that wouldn't accept it after my food was presented to me at the counter, and a supermarket tried to tell me they won't take it the other day and I nearly walked leaving a whole trolley load at the checkout until the mgr got involved. I know of an industrial supplies place near my work (industrial fasteners) that is refusing cash, so I've taken my business with them to a competitor already.
