Ever had a job you genuinely enjoyed going to?

@soulsrespite Ah i see, hehe :)
Yeah the flashback scene where you see the two girls meet eachother for the first time :)

It looks like it.

since it’s my profile photo, might as well show you the bigger version of it. @Axelerator

@soulsrespite Thank you, that's a really nice photo :)

Gas station assistant manager. Best summer of my life so far
ForeverGrowingOld · 22-25, F
@iamnikki great boss, never had to be on register, just spent my time being behind the scenes
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@ForeverGrowingOld being behind the scenes doing what?
ForeverGrowingOld · 22-25, F
@iamnikki cleaning, preparing shit for boss visits, paperwork, stocking.

Working in a cannery during the early 1970s.

I would have seriously considered making it a career, but all the canneries disappeared from the US by the mid 1970s.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@iamnikki Canning food, like the cans of food you buy in supermarkets. The cannery I worked in canned berries, beans and pears.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@greenmountaingal ok, that was my guess. Sounds like it could be fun

@iamnikki No competition among workers, egalitarian camaraderie, great exercise (no need to join a gym!), free fruit and veggies to take home (and then can myself), and for me, best of all, I was a member of the Teamsters Union, a powerful union that kicked out the Communist Party many decades ago thus making it impossible for my otherwise powerful mother to get me fired.

Music gigs are super fun

I've enjoyed every job I've ever had, until I didn't. Then I quit.
katielass · F
@iamnikki Well, it's all in the attitude. If you show up expecting to have fun you're more likely to have fun. I was a nurse for many years and we even made that fun. I worked one time for a few months with a nurse originally from Jamaica and she put some fruit in a basket and stuck it on her head and sang to a mentally challenged young man. He loved it and it changed his entire stay with us. It was great.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@katielass nice, how else was it fun? genuinely interested here. We can't have fun at my job. Folk have already gotten seating arrangements due to talking to much (call center)
katielass · F
@iamnikki Oh jeez, after I couldn't work as a nurse anymore I worked as a supervisor in a call center at an insurance company. Every week I held a meeting with my staff, in shifts so the phones were still covered and it was their time to vent, clarify things, ask questions or just be silly. It was their time, I felt they needed it to let the emotional baggage out as that is difficult work. They seemed to appreciate it and it was something they could look forward to. It was fun, we made it fun.

I did some bicycle tours of my city, like my mother does. I enjoyed that.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@NenaRussa I think that'd be cool if one lives in a cool city.Seeing out-of-towners ooo and ahh over stuff you see daily👍🏾
NenaRussa · 22-25, F
I love it, except the stopping to explain everything 😬 @iamnikki

Dishwasher for a restaurant. Good pay, friendly staff, and great meals for lunch.
My old job that i resigned from when it's not too hectic. I was a copyeditor
Axelerator · 26-30, M
Nope, not yet, partially enjoy yes :)
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@Axelerator What were those?
Axelerator · 26-30, M
@iamnikki 3-D animator, and Mcdonalds to mention two hehe.

You might not think it but Mcdonalds have set up some rules and ways of doing things that just works, honestly a lot of big corps could learn from the core concepts of it.
Very rare to find a place where people are willing to stretch themselves for further and longer, out of want to help their boss and colleague, and that's something that stands out.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@Axelerator You ever seen the movie The Founder. it was great.
LostGuy · 26-30, M
For a very small time. I used to work part time in a computer store.
