Could I sack a person if they are simply thick?

I have a bloke whom has worked for the company in the same department for 8 months but they are just not learning! Th only response I ever get from him is “ yeah ok I’ll take that on board” arghhh it’s frustrating correcting his work all the damn time!

If he’s consistently not improving or following instructions without a damn good reason....can his ass. He’s a disruption to the workplace and to the team. Your productivity not to mention the morale of the team is affected. Un happy team= unhappiness with the job.

@Longpatrol My thoughts exactly! I wasn’t sure if I was been too harsh.

@Ross19 you’ve got to make way for a more decent employee. If that was his only job or he was the breadwinner, he’s got no one else to blame but himself. All the more reason you should take advantage of the chances you’ve been given. If you’re not, it’s an attitude problem and I’m not here to give a shit about a worker’s high school shenanigans.

@Longpatrol Excellent points. Maybe I need to schedule a meeting with our HR man. Well the other point is that we are currently short staffed (already have 2 vacancies) don’t want to make it 3 just yet.

Talk to your Boss and discuss, "workplace restructuring". Making his position redundant. Harsh, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do

@Gusman I’ve been recently made manager of the department tasked with improving customer service and he is one massive cause of the departments current under performance.
