As a creative, what is your biggest struggle?

Bonus love if you tell me a bit about yourself and the kind of creative stuff you do.
NorthernRoses · 26-30, F
I get a whole ton of ideas, write them down, and never ever use any of them.
TheLoveAge · 36-40, F
@NorthernRoses I get this too, why do you think that's the case with you?

Mine blend and then they don't... lol

@NorthernRoses Tell me a bit more? Why don't you ever use them? Is there a specific reason?
SW-User
Im not sure if this is what you are looking for but I think all creative types probably feel too much. More likely to be an empath and very sensitive, especially readers, writers, poetry lovers.

@SW-User If your empathy causes struggle, then yes, that's what I'm looking for!

It seems pretty common that creatives are emotional. The Philosopher Freidrich Nietzsche actually did a lot of research into art. His stance was that the Greeks had better art than the Germans because they, as a culture, put more value on emotion. As a result, their art was less "sterile" and more vibrant.

There's also a book called Descartes' Error, which says something similar, or at least applies.

Thanks for sharing!

@SW-User Yes,exactly!!

I do stand up comedy and trying to be a more positive kind person has really hampered my ability to write new material over the last few months.
SW-User
@Whys0serious I'm actually really interested in comedy from an intellectual perspective, so I listen to lots of comedians, and interviews with them. There seems to be a pretty universal consensus that comedians are, as bill Burr says, "not healthy people."

So you're not alone in feeling this, it seems!
Whys0serious · 36-40, M
@SW-User Yeah, to see humour in every situation takes years of damage and an unnatural need to be liked. At some point the “sense” of humour becomes more of a disorder of humour 😅.
SW-User
@Whys0serious I understand. I think being happy and healthy is probably preferred though.

Think of it this way: There's enough fucked up things in this world to write comedy about. One of them doesn't have to be you.

I wish you luck in finding balance, and living the life you want!

I write a lot and dabble a bit in fashion design. The hardest things, at least for me, are staying focused on one idea at a time and, for the design thing, finding patterns and colors that work together but haven't also been done 1,000+ times before.
Earlier it was noise pollution
&
now it is lack of timely needed discussions.

No bonus for you.
SW-User
@sspec Community is something everyone needs. This is true of creatives as well.

No bonus required!

Here's hoping you find your tribe soon!
@SW-User 😌 Those missing discussions can only be done with selected one, my boss who has wheels in his feet that he somehow isn't able to spare time enough since past 2 weeks.
Thanks for hoping alongside me. 👍

Trying to maintain consistent productivity. I think it's the most common struggle to have, honestly.
SW-User
@UndeadPrivateer Would you mind telling me a bit about why it's difficult, specifically? There might be a lot of reasons someone struggles with this.

To write something worthwhile, that isn't tripe.
SW-User
@JupiterDreams What does "worthwhile" mean, my sweetest of Valentines?
