I Sleep With a Stuffed Animal

The Jeff Gordon Pillow-----

OK--I really do not remember sleeping with a stuffed animal. I am told I did at one time-but that was forever ago. I am a sound sleeper. When my head hits the pillow, I am out in 5 or 10 minutes-there is no conversation at that point.

But when my son was very young I was a big Jeff Gorden fan-Ok--still am to a degree-but I HATE, HATE, HATE how NASCAR is now. This idiot "chase" is wrong. A 26 races season?? And it's Grand Nationals or Winston Cup-not whatever the crap they call it now. And the old raceways-they need reopened. They had class. Did I mention I hate how NASCAR is now?? NO? I do!

But anyway, my son... My son got me this small pillow one time as a gift. A 6 inch by 6 inch pillow-hardly any stuffing to it and it was a Jeff Gordon pillow. No-no pics of him-pics of the car and the number--and his names printed. I could see-as could my ex-that this gift meant a LOT to HIM--and that he was proud of it. Ah--but what to do. It was too small for use. And I could not hurt his feelings by tossing it aside.

And then it came to me--We had a King size bed- a waterbed back in those days. And my ex always liked BIG pillows. So our pillows almost touched when placed at the head of the bed. But there was a gap--And this Jeff Gorden pillow-filled that gap nicely. For I rolled over too many times only to wake up with my head in a weird angled position. And it often hurt.

She is history and I have a super queen bed-it'd a lonely bed- but pillows are still on bothsides-NORMAL ones- And the Jeff Gorden pillow still remains. And at times-I go to sleep clutching it if I face my right.

To be honest, I loved the gift-still do--aww..I guess it shows. Now almost 20(my son) -I can still see his face and his pride as he gave me that pillow. It was a gift he was proud of then. It is one I am proud to own now.

That's a sweet story I use to sleep with stuffed animals. Now I have my big teddy bear husband.
Thanks. i think what I had, way back, was a pet monkey! If I rememebr right. Until I had children myself, I never really thought of the security issue that can provide.

That's sweet-so you are saying you have an improved version of your old teddy bear? *smiles*
