Am I wrong for thinking this?

I recently got my car and I've been driving it but not that much since I've been working from home. Anyways, my dad was driving long ago but doesn't anymore since his car needed some extensive repairs that he can't afford. Since I got my car, he's been asking me non stop for a drive to go out and at first I had no issue.

However, I realized it's becoming a frequent habit of his and the gas is going down really fast. I kept thinking to myself, at what point does he have an actual conscience and not drive the car as often as he does. The worst part is, he doesn't contribute to fuel because he's low on funds so he can't really afford it. I honestly don't have an issue giving him a drive every now and then but come on man!! Take the bust sometimes!

Yesterday he told me he was heading up to block to play some bets for racehorse and took almost 3 hours before he returned the car. I really don't want it to get to a point where I have to be honest and tell him not to drive it as frequent because I know he'll start getting overly emotional and shit. When he was driving, I never rode in his car so it's not like he can say crap about me.

Ughhh I hate people sometimes

{@alifeintrupte9 ] yes i understand he is your dad but all the same he should understand cars do not run without petrol . you should of dropped a massive hint and said to him when he was going to put his bets on to drop by the nearest petrol station and fill up the engine. AT YOUR DADS EXPENSE OF COURSE

Stop putting gas in the tank for him.

I'd just be honest and say you can't drive him around so much because it's costing you a lot in fuel. If he wants to throw you a lil bit sometimes then cool but otherwise it is how it is.

He's an adult, should be able to take it, if not then eh.

I don't think you're in the wrong here at all. It might be a bit awkward since he's your father but I think you need to speak up.
