I will be honest, I think this kind of 'thinking' trying to solve problems instead of just being present for people is a super common thing. It is weird, because you ended up feeling more alone when they give advice. For me, it makes me feel more lonely (isolated) then closer to the person trying to help.

@ProfRS It is, it is a very common thing to do. Sometimes it is because people don't know how to communicate when someone is being open, and that it's maybe too uncomfortable for them, so they just bring the "... but just keep your chin up, eyh?" answer.

But on the other side, the purpose of addressing a problem, is to find away to get rid of that problem. Talking about it and fully understand how the problem affects you both practical and emotional is imperative to even have the faintest idea what it is you're struggling with!

But in the end, one has to decide which path one chooses to go with with one's problems. Do you choose a life free of your negative emotions, and concerns, or not?
