South vs North? (In the US)

Which is better? How do the mannerisms differ? People, and whatnot?

I think the northern folk are more plain spoken. We will call you an idiot, the southerner would say, "bless yer heart"
AkAtSUki · F
@Doomflower lol I must really be an idiot, bcuz I thought bless your heart was a nice thing to be told lollol
KickfaceK · 31-35, F
@AkAtSUki lol it isn't it's like a pitty statement. They are petty down here.
Doomflower · 36-40, M
@AkAtSUki it depends on context and tone.

I live in Maryland so technically I’m confused about whether I’m in the north or in the south. 👆👇 🤷‍♂️
The rude people are everywhere!

travelguy01 · 41-45, M
@BackyardShaman Maryland / Pennsylvania line
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
In metropolitan areas there is no personality of the region left, the cities have managed to become generic and rude people are everywhere.
AkAtSUki · F
@BackyardShaman There seems to be an as$hole coalition worldwide lol lol
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
Yes indeed@AkAtSUki
BlueVeins · 22-25

My experience is that people in the South put on an act of being very friendly (which they may or may not be).
I’m from the North (New York), and there are some very friendly people here....but it’s easier to tell which ones are friendly because the assholes don’t bother putting up a front pretending to be friendly.
I’ve experienced rudeness from people in the South as well as the North, and some helpful people from both areas as well.
Mannerisms differ (New Yorkers don’t say hello and have a conversation with everyone they don’t know....but that doesn’t make them unfriendly, just practical).
I wouldn’t say one is better than the other....just different.
in general, people in the south prefer a bit more spice to food, they tend to be a little frendlier in general, and move a little slower. they can also be annoying in a 'well, I just kinda adopted you effectively, so now I can put my nose all in your business' sorta way. I'd say the south tends to hold onto traditions a little stronger than the north.

@stound that's where I'm from. I miss alot of the food there but its a sh1thole now sadly
@AkAtSUki I saw in other comments, which inspired me to this one. sorry it's not as you remember or would like it to be. what region did you end up going to?
AkAtSUki · F

@missbeez I'm from the chi so in my pov I can see a bigger difference since I moved south. Ppl are friendlier. Though I've encountered some as$wipes here and there but it was much worse in Chicago.

@missbeez Population is higher, and ppl living stacked on top of each other, more agitation. I can see that.
KickfaceK · 31-35, F
I think people are still typically more hospitable in the South. Doesnt mean they're better people though.

Northeast corner of the country is the rudest I've met, I'm not saying that about everyone, just my encounters. The southwest is the best, ppl r friendly and outgoing. Screw the southeast, too hot & humid.
AkAtSUki · F
@SW-User Lol can't handle that GA heat lol I feel you though. I hate humidity too. North East does have alot of Aholes. West coast is chill, i like the dry heat, cool evenings, but CA is an economic sh!thole, and i love rain too much to live there lol

@AkAtSUki I would never live in Cali, too expensive.
accent differs. food differs. attitudes not so much anymore.
AkAtSUki · F
@BiasForAction interesting 👍

In the South they just smile and say "bless your heart" then talk shit about you behind your back. 😂

I'm from New England. Boston can be a rude place, but elsewhere I've had mostly pleasant experiences.
North. Fuck the south. [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttPjgChLOUI]
