I Exercise Regularly

I was sprinting down the road for like 20 seconds, then walking back, taking a break for like 2 minutes, increasing the break from 2 minutes to 2:40 minutes after the third round, then around 3 minutes last two rounds--6 rounds, although I'm not sure if I was still sprinting towards the end. Felt like I had an ab and a calf workout. That was my cardio for the day.

That's not cardio in the true sense of the word, that is more like High Intensity Interval Training. Depends what you are trying to achieve to see if that is the best use of your time but I would definitely consider sprinting up any inclines (as opposed to down).

For effective cardio it needs to be consistent intensity for about 20 minutes or more, running, cycling, swimming, walking, anything you can maintain for 20 minutes. I've just checked (online) to see what you were doing would best be described as and it's 'dynamic strength training'. All depends what you are training for what you need to do but the training you described is very effective for improving speed and strength but (there is always a down side) needs a good warm up and can be destructive ie you become susceptible to injury as it is so close to operating at 100%.

@GeniUs I hurt myself before--I can imagine from not warming up properly.

I've just been for a run (and even though the temperature is quite mild) the first 10 minutes is no more than a jog until my body is ready to get going.
