I Need Advice

Have you ever had an ATM reject your deposit? It happened to me today. My tax check came today and I took it to the bank to deposit it. I had to use the ATM because the banks are closed today. I endorsed the check and followed the directions on the ATM and the sys. refused to deposit it! Very strange. The only thing I can think of is I didn't use a deposit slip but it usually doesn't require one. I'll take it to the bank the first chance I get and let a teller deposit it, which I prefer doing anyway. I've never trusted depositing money through an ATM.

you should be ok.

but do tell them about what happened.. just in case it is a glitch.

those POOR atms get beaten up and hassled then some people mess with them so they can steal your information.

so it's a plus if you mention it.

also depending on amount it may need 'authorization' as in a humanoid to validate the deposit so mr. atm was probably going 'i can't do this for you hooman you must see another hooman because i'm a machine i don't have this authority hoooman'. ;)

My bank doesn't have an ATM like that. I'm not sure if I would trust it, though. I'm pretty paranoid about privacy and security. I'm wondering if that happened because the amount was so high, given the check was over the limit your bank may have on that type of deposit. What do you think?

It happened to me a couple of weeks ago - there was a problem with the ATM. I deposited it without an issue a few days later.
