Why won't my Pothos plant grow?

I've gotten it over a year ago.
It had 6 leaves.

Now it has on 4. Never more, never less.

I water it, I add food.

I took it completely out of its soil months ago to check for root rot.

Then I put it in new soil.

It's not growing 😐

Is it getting enough light? That’s the only reason mine ever didn’t grow well. But I’m also growing mine with the roots
In a fish tank too.

@Zaphod42 they should be. My place gets alot of sun. Sometimes I'll leave the blinds open while I'm at work.

@iamnikki they don’t get full sun though, right? Pothos like indirect sunlight. A little direct light isn’t bad, but I think I remember more than an hour or two of full sunlight isn’t good for them.

@Zaphod42 they are always indoors. Never out sitting in sun

It likes indirect light. Also, you may want to put it in water and let new roots grow. If you keep it in soil, water at the bottom of the container.

@Pinkstarburst it seems to be working. I have a new leaf coming. Will leaving it in a little water create root rot though?

@iamnikki YAY!!! No. The roots only pull up what they want. If the dirt surrounding them stayed wet then the roots would rot.

@Pinkstarburst thank you. I realize my problem was I wasn't watering it heavily enough. I watered heavily and poured the excees from the bowl.

A few days later,I added the bowl back with a little water.

I also notice dry peices on the branches where new leaves WOULD have grown, had I watered properly.

I thought leaves came from the nodes🤦

I would cover the nodes in more soil for this reason lol

@stratosranger I grow pathos so well, I am looking to give some away. But arrowhead pathos, no go, Gave it to my neighbor and it recovered beautifully for her.

Some houseplants will grow for me, others won't. Don't know what that is so, though. Had a hard winter, my plants suffered. If you get the job, and have to go there to work, take it with you. It might be happier there?

It’s probably root-bound. You need a slightly larger flower pot if it is.

@cherokeepatti one more thing, I have one that is completely in water . the water is cloudy. Not sure if it's from the one squirt of liquid plant food that I put in there or if I need to change the water?

The one I bought last year is the one that's struggling

@iamnikki You could try keeping it in glass container with water. That’s what my mom has done and it’s growing up so healthy!

@Vivaci I have 1 in glass. A coworker cut me a peice of hers. No toots yet but I already see a new leaf growing. I'll check out this vid later.
I'm gonna try what someone mmention. For me to put something under it with a little water, so it can soak up water as needed

Likely because Potatoes grow during a specific seaon / time of the year.

And I dont think its now ..planting for September seems about right.
