I Was Smacked At Primary School

When I was at primary school I had a teacher I didn't get on with too well mainly because of my smart mouth. It started the time she walked into the class with new glasses on which I think she probably thought did something for her.
One girl said, "Oh Miss! You've new glasses on!"
"Yes," she said. "Do you like them?"
I had to pipe up, "No Miss. They don't suit you!"
Now I had just given my opinion so I thought, but the teacher was most displeased with my comment.
She went rather red: "Jennifer, go and stand in the corner at once!"
I went and stood in the corner which was well inhabited by naughty children who displeased Miss. I was wondering what I had said that so upset her. Anyway she called the register and thundered my name in angry fashion when she did so.
Then she called me to her when she was sitting, told me was a rude little girl I was, and put me over her knee and gave me a few good swats on my bum.
I return to my seat with tears in my eyes and a stinging bottom having learned a life lesson that giving one's opinion is not always welcome.
That was hightly unfair of the teacher to spank you. If she couldn´t handle a honest answer from a young child, she shouldn´t have asked for one. I think she spanked you because you embarrassed her in front of the whole class and maybe because you hurt her feelings. But if the second of my conjectures had been the case, she could have just tell you that and maybe making it to a part of a lesson to the whole class. According to the motto: Why it´s sometimes better to not say what´s going on in your mind. Or to think first about if your words could hurt someone before you say them out loud.

jennypenny oh from the mouths of babes so how old where you exactly when this happened I can see a lot of ways of looking at this your teacher asked your opinion on this she asked for a opinion on what you thought I do not think your answer was too rude really but if there was dislike there it may of just give her ample reason to punish you in the way she did to show you she was not letting you get away with a cheap innocuous remark there is sometimes there is the temptation not too say what you think and bite your tongue and say nothing

About 7/8
Well hey if you want an honest answer ask a kid or drunk person. Lol hey you were just giving an answer to a question. If I was the teacher I would just thank you for your opinion or ignore the comment.
Did you mean it to be insulting or really just saying what you thought?
I'm guessing the real reason you got into trouble was because you embarrassed her.

Most unfair. She shouldn't have asked the question if she didn't want an honest answer.

Still, I expect you deserved a stinging bottom on other occasions. Most of us did!

Might have been for jumping in on the conversation before the other girl could answer. A rebuke should have been enough though.

You were rude and you deserved it!
I don't believe the end. But the beginning was cute and funny.

You obviously weren't at school when I was!
