Watching Cobra Kai on Netflix?

I don't want to sound partial but I am fixed on the 80's style movies when I am alone & the feelings of nostalgia sets in for me.

I can go back nearly 40 years. I can still remember the first black & white movie I ever saw. I still have a list of movies I want to see that I have never seen before yet, I have seen some classic movies.

I grew up old school, so my generation of good movies goes back to watching the older ones from the 1930's to the 60's and 70's.

Yet, I grew up in the 80's and The Brat Pack was my obsession when I was growing up.
(Even though I still love the classics).
I began watching Cobra Kai on Netflix and I found that it is telling a story.
Its an incredibly written story from the very first Karate Kid movie, that tells the rival of Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso...(AKA Daniel son) from the first Karate Kid made in 1984.

The story line is well written, so I am deeply impressed by the writers and producers who chose to carry on a legacy that describes my generation.

When you are a single mom from generation X and trying to raise a gen Z child while explaining your past becomes quite complicated but to introduce your kids to your generation of movies, you begin to feel nostalgic.

It was my 46th birthday this year and my brother told me about Cobra Kai on Netflix.
I didn't even know what it was (because I hadn't heard it in over 20 years). He told me it was on Netflix reminding me that it was a spin-off of the Karate Kid. As the film made its debut in August 2020 on Netflix. Yet little did I know it had already been on YouTube Red three years ago. I told my 16 year old daughter at the time that I wanted to watch it and she was like, what the heck is Cobra Kai, so we turned it on.
It was my birthday when we watched it together with her friends on Netflix and she enjoyed it but her friends at the time also thought that the original Karate Kid movie was with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan.
I explained to them that was not the original and told them they had to watch the original before watching Cobra Kai.

When we turned it on, it was still in that window between Netflix airing the original before the release date of Cobra Kai. (It was on Netflix at that time and we watched the first Karate Kid while it was still on Netflix before continuing to watch Cobra Kai).

After watching the first Karate Kid, my daughter was hooked. Now Cobra Kai became a series we watched together.
By the time I watched it, it was already a national phenomenon.
Now we cannot wait to see Season 3.

It is a series that carries on from the 80's into the next century of movies, from my generation into my children's generation.
I respect the story line of the two rivals from the high school years of Jonny & LaRusso, because it tells a story of how life so suddenly evolves by our fortunate a

I love 70s & 80s movies too even though I was born in '89. I've watched the entire two seasons of cobra kai and it's so cool that the original actors from 35 years ago are still acting
