I Tried Something New
If you've read any of my posts, you'd know that I'm in the process of trying to 'get a life'.
Today, I went to an outing with a meetup group I joined.
Funny because the group all started when I asked a simple question, on a discussion of another group. The question was, "do you all ever do anything in [my] city"?
A bunch of people responded, saying they'd like events in my/their city as well. So one of those people started a new group, which is the one I joined and went on an outing with.
So anyway, we went to a cafe type place, where they have board games for folks to play. I played some I've never played before. Didn't know that type of establishment existed (yes, I live under a rock).
Then, this lady, in the cafe, just passing by on her way out with her order said: "ya'll look like ya'll are having so much fun, ya'll should've invited me !".
She proceeded to walk away and the organizer of the group told her " you know you should come next time. We are part of a meetup group, and we did not know each other before we sat down". She was like "really??".
So they exchanged numbers and I assume she will join the group.
I thought that was pretty cool. But I'm no where near as courageous as that lady to walk up to a group of folks at a table and say that. Guess it paid off..
Oh and also, the folks that I met today were all from other states. I was the only Texan. One had been here 3 years, 2 years and only one month馃憤馃従
Anyway, that is all folks馃檪
