More than bears (whose encounters are fairly unlikely) - I tend to hear more of trees, stones and broken bones.
SW-User
@Elessar I almost broke my neck because of an inconsiderate snowboarder. I heard it crack as I landed on it.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SW-User I've yet to try snow. But impacts with asphalt haven't been few and miraculously I never broke anything. 🥴 (Aside from motorbikes, mostly cosmetic parts, brake levers, a steering once 😬)
Wow ... that guy needs a lesson in putting the skis together and pointing downhill!
SW-User
@questionWeaver Yeah, I'd be booting it straight down.
@SW-User oh yea ... I be setting a new personal speed record!

Must have been Bear Mountain in New Hampshire
SW-User
@HoraceGreenley Romania I think.

There are many things wrong with this
1- Bears are hibernating
2- Black bear will not hunt you down, grizzlies and polar bears will.
3- Where was the person filming?

@Quimliqer It's a brown bear. The person filming was on a gondola going down. Maybe this bear is getting a late start.

@Quimliqer Hibernating animals do wake up from time to time

Ask a tree.

I wonder if the skier got away?
SW-User
@SW-User He dropped his backpack, and this gave him an opening to escape as the bear investigated.
SW-User
@SW-User Good to know, thanks!

It's very safe. I love it

Most skiing casualties that I’m familiar with have involved collisions with objects—usually trees. But that bear seems pretty dedicated in his pursuit. Hope the skier lost him. 🙁
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard He dropped his backpack. The ruse worked.

@SW-User Very smart.
