Why be fake?

I hate it when people are fake on here. Everybody brings something to the table.Do you think so little of yourself that you have to mislead everyone? I have been online for a long time. I know the history behind people and yet they play the same games. Come on..

Some people think the “real” them is inadequate, so they concoct a more exciting, interesting or impressive persona. Others I think do it as a pretense to get something from others.
