Do you think my older cousin was overreacting or is she right?

My female cousin called out my sister and I for being rude. She said, “Wow this is the RUDEST thing you could EVER do to someone! If the toilet paper is out or almost out, just put a new role for someone! It isn’t hard. Lazies.”
I though I’m my head, “Really? She could have gotten it herself! Damn. 🙄”
I was like, “I got you, here.”
My younger sister (18) looked upset when she scold us off and she said she’s wrong for yelling at us. I told her, “Don't worry about it. Just move on. We just gotta remember to put one in. She kind of has a point.”
She gets uncomfortable when someone calls her out and she feels hurt or guilty and was upset when I said our cousin had a point.

really doesn't warrant yelling, especially if y'all have spare rolls in the bathroom. And if you don't, that'd beg the question... why
@BlueVeins yeah

if someone else finishes it then its polite to change it but :/
@AllelujahHaptism Yeah I guess. My sister gotta move on and stop taking things personally and we screw up sometimes.

@TotallyValleyGirl yeah, theyre both old enough to either know better or to sort it out

I dont think she was wrong for asking that you and your sister be courteous enough to keep essential items in stock lol ...

However shes your cousin and will have known your sister is sensitive to being called out in such a way.

She could have used more tact!
@Kae20 Yeah you have a point but my sister thinks our cousin should apologize but I told her to forget about it and don’t expect it! We usually remember to put one in there. My sister is taking it personally but I told her move on.

@TotallyValleyGirlI agree with you, I cant see the point in keeping the issue going
@Kae20 Yeah. She said she was going to tell her cousin hi until that happened. I told her just get over inches go back to work she was doing. We all screw up sometimes and have bad days.

It sounds like cousin overreacted and lashed out, probably caused by the immediacy of the situation of not having tissue when she needed. That’s a bad combination with overly sensitive sister. Hopefully they can patch things up and have no permanent damage.
@SW-User Well it’s over now. I have her the toilet paper. My sister is taking it personally and she said our cousin needs to apologize. I told her forget about it and don’t expect it.

Well, it's certainly no fun to realize too late that the roll is empty and have to call for help, lol. But she should have been nicer in asking.
Yeah

Does your cousin not know where you store your toilet paper?
@DMDawson Yea we told her. She knows
DMDawson · 70-79, F
@TotallyValleyGirl In that case I think she's just being difficult and nitpicky.

I call that a bitch move
@Dan193 She was kind of a bitch for scolding us but she had a point. My sister took it personally.
