It means what you think it means. If we both dreamed of butterflies, I could interpret my dream as creativity because that's what butterflies, with all their beautiful colors, mean to me. But you could interpret your dream to mean freedom because butterflies are free to fly wherever, whenever they want. What does your dream mean to you? What did you see or hear in the dream? How did you feel in the dream? What were you thinking in the dream? Questions like that can help you interpret it.
