How soon to tell?

When you are getting to know someone,prior to that 1st date, should you reveal any mental health issues?
Like depression and anxiety?
SW-User
No. First date is a joke

@SW-User I agree. First dates are usually just an introduction to each other. Just feeling each other out.

There’s no reason to reveal anything like that at that point. The other person probably won’t be. Anyway it’s not like it’s some disgrace or something, many people have such things in their past or present or both .

ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Unless you're getting serious, they don't need to know. Protect yourself please.

@GohantheThird protect myself how?
@Gemini16 do not tell them any mental health stuff until it gets serious. You do not want to risk telling someone who cannot understand what it is you have. More importantly, you don't wanna risk that they can't keep their mouth shut.

As soon as you’d expect them to have told you about theirs is a good general advice

@adorbz uhh which would usually not be before the first date unless you feel it’s super important to let them know
Don’t mention axe killer but you can tell em you are sharpening yours

Wait until it becomes more than one date or serious.
It depends on so many things. I don't think I would bring it out as a main topic, but I might work it in somewhere - maybe make light of it.

@PhoenixPhail yes! Craziness! Lol
@Gemini16 Yes, but in a good way.

Here is my thought process, he is looking for a long term relationship. We have been talking and texting for awhile. I just dont want it to be an issue in the future. I've had that happen to me before!
