Phone viruses

So today I tried to go onto eBay and this other website for babies as I was searching something and it got linked to that. On eBay I was looking at pony toys and suddenly something popped up on my phone saying congratulations you have won an iPhone this is no joke get it before someone else does by clicking here and tried to force me to click on it so I closed it off. Then it happened twice just now when I was on the baby care website and I went back to it and it happened again when I was trying to read something. Any advice on how to stop this from popping up ? Anyone experienced it too ? Anyway to get rid of phone viruses? Any idea why this happens ?

This is what I would do:

Go to settings>apps>google>clear data and clear cookies

Go to any useless apps recently installed and remove them.

Go to file management and delete any useless apk files.

Install a cleaner app like[b] clean master[/b] and use it to completely delete any useless junk.
