Yes. The U.S. does have its own culture. I suppose it depends on which of its own cultures you are talking about. The culture of the North American Aboriginals, or the culture which was created and developed by the earliest settlers who came over to escape the oppressive conditions they were facing in their homelands.
The culture keeps changing through time, because the U.S. has been a melting pot of cultures.
The U.S. Culture is a stew, not a buffet.

In fact, you can see U.S. culture throughout the world thanks to this country's dominance in the entertainment market.

@StevetheSleeve: I mean, I've always assumed that maybe American culture is something we've already gotten used to because of the Media, but I can't find any EXAMPLES.
Xuan12 路 31-35, M
Actually it does, but it's easy to miss it under the modern veneer.
One part of it is actually influenced by our geography. Similar to Norway perhaps, when America was young its people faced a vast, rugged, unconquered wilderness. A situation which many European nations like England and France had little perspective on in their homelands. It fostered a spirit of self-reliance, exploration, and romanticism unique from the American's European counterparts.

Yes, the U.S. has many "cultures" depending on where you are! Here in the south, people eat different food, speak differently and live differently than people in other parts of the country. Most people in the south know what banana peppers are and what ramps are...people in the west have no idea what they are!

Lol, no not inclined platforms! They are a wild onion found in the woods during spring...very strong.

@AngelaAnthony: Yeah, hadn't heard that one before.
SW-User
@AngelaAnthony: I'm from the Northeast and ramps is definitely new to me. I think subway having banana peppers makes it quite hard not to know :)
DemonicPersona 路 F
It has multiple cultures bleeded depending on area imho
NorthernRoses 路 22-25, F
@TwilitSona: I suppose so, but I'm thinking a culture that is specifically AMERICAN. 馃 I know there's pieces of Mexican, Irish and Italian culture scattered here and there? Probably more.

Yes it does, absolutely!! This is my opinion based on my experiences consulting in over 40 of the 50 states.
Each State has it's own unique culture, speaking accents, food, temperature, and faith basis.
This perspective really shaped how I view the words "The United States of America"

Mostly it's an amalgam of the many groups of people who live here, that "melting pot". But the things I think of as "typically American" are things like hot dogs, hamburgers, fried foods and barbecue, baseball, basketball and American football. And even though it's been coopted by most of the world, U.S. music genres: jazz, blues, soul, R&B, hip-hop/rap, country and rock. It may be performed worldwide, but it was born right here.
