Do you enjoy the challenge and the chase more/less than the relationship you end up in?

SW-User
The proverbial butterfly chasing is fun, but it is sure tiring, so i just think about it and smile on the sidelines and the byways of all the goings on of things going on :)

A spectator?

Yep .....:)
The heart is always hunting and seldom is the mind at rest. Contentment, if it even exists as a pure state, is fleeting and short. So the "relationship" one ends up with may not be the love and affection they are still searching for.

I think in our younger years, we enjoy the chase more. We have not yet learned to savor what life offers. Always searching for greener grass. As we get older we realize our choices, and chances, for contentment are getting few- so we are more apt to settle for what we have, We have learned complacency and how to take life for what it is.

Thank you for such a thoughtful response, and I think you may be right. 🙂
@Serendipity: *furiously blushes* Thank You.

I think the men I have met always enjoy the chase - it's the relationship they don't like.

I kinda really do. I love the feeling of being around a guy I'm not dating, constantly flirting with him, "chasing" him, if you will. But as soon as we start dating it just gets boring.

I don't mean this in a patronising way, but you're young, so it's understandable you want to keep exploring the possibilities, and having fun. 🙂

@Serendipity: I am young. Excellent observation! I'm just not a fan of dating at the moment because it's not fair for my partner if I have eyes for other people all the time.

@TheDarkestZero: Fair enough. 🙂

opposite for me. i hate playing games and girls im interested playing hard to get and all that bullshit and then becoming upset when i stop talking to them. i wish it were more straight forward as opposed to going through a maze of social barriers.

The chase is fun, and I don't see it as a game. It's how relationships start.
SW-User
Indeed. 🙂

:) Why chase things you wouldn't want??
SW-User
Some people like the thrill of the hunt, more than the calm of the catch, so-to-speak. :)

xD You speaking about yourself on this one??
SW-User
@OpenArmPolicy: Nooooo Just thinking out loud about people I know. :)
