How can you tell me to f*ck off and then say you'll be there for me right after?

If what they said is true. Then you really have a good friend. Hearing the harsh truth, especially from friend can be a shock. Is it the wake up call you need?

Did they tell you the truth?

Did they tell you to kick rocks as a necessary way of guarding themselves from becoming collateral damage because of their friendship with you?

When they said they would still be there for you where they stating that once you fix your life they where willing to reengage with you fully?

Friends tell their fends the truth even when it hurts..

Are they a friend ?

Sounds like they think you need professional support but maybe they think you're not seeing that you do; and that they'll be there but can only do so-much given that your needs are beyond what a friend can normally provide?

Whether they are right and you have these problems, I cannot determine, but it sounds like they simply wanted to be honest with you.
