Of course, money or property, and if I really didn't like or want the property I'd sell it. However I don't have any relatives or friends who have/had anything let alone that I was close enough to or thought enough of me to do that so it is what it is.

Yes but I would either divide it and rent it out for either a parking lot or sell it or something but keeping it would be a no no as there will, the cost of maintaining it

That would be very strange indeed. Why would it take decades to inform you?
@Zoranna for some reason the person involved didn't feel the need to inform others , now the price of property increased a lot and it makes sense to sell now
