R.I.P Today Jan the 14th windows 7 is officially gone.

It'll continue to live though I would use it if I had a spare PC but since I'm happy with Windows 10 I'm not complaining. I have all versions on Virtualbox anyway for the nostalgia.

That’s why I never used any of those MS toybox after XP. I’m a Mac user and it has worked great for me since 2008.
Wow , how sad . I absolutely HATE windows 10 and regret upgrading from 7 to 10.

Windows 7 was much easier and user friendly and much lighter on resources.

Uh oh. My computer still runs it. I guess I should... I don't know, upgrade or something?
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@CountScrofula Yeah, I use it at work, so I'm used to it. I could make the change if I wanted too. I'm mostly just concerned about the possibility of losing compatibility with some of my programs. I'll have to recheck to see if those rumors are still true.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@FaeLuna It'll vary by program. Compatibility mode can also work for most things. Like i haven't run into that many issues. I'm not an early adopter but I tend to keep on OS releases.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@FaeLuna Basically it's fundamentally the same OS as Windows 7.

The move from XP to Vista was far more traumatic for everyone because of some fundamental changes they made.

I switched to a Mac after my last HP died in 2013 and have never gone back.

@bijouxbroussard I agree. I always thought the Mac thing was a rip off for the gullible or brand conscious. However in the years that I've been using them (since 2011), I've never regretted it. (And I'm not commercially or otherwise connected to Apple).

Leakin' a little bit of RAM for our dead homie.

Windows 7 lives in my lab PC.

It will be remembered fondly.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
I still prefer this to windows 10.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
It will always be our backup OS for when things go to shit
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
Yes it really was the best. Windows 10 is a huge step backwards but I've learned to tolerate it.
