Is this offensive or just PC madness?

There was an alcoholic beverage which showed a witch burning at the stake. I think the name was something related, like "witches brew" or something. People complained, and while I know it's our first reaction to be like "omg, who cares?" just imagine if they showed blacks hanging from trees on wine, or jews in ovens? The truth is, many witches were burned at the stake and that was a tragedy, so how is it different than any other minority group? You might laugh at it, but are you really being logically consistent?

It's 'cause it happened a really long time ago and is therefore apparently not relevant enough to today to get upset about.

A lot of the men and women who were burned or otherwise hung or drowned for being "witches" simply had different opinions or something else to that effect and not a justification for being brutally murdered.

@AgapeLove My mistake, I only thought of what happened in the states.

As much as things are getting better, we can't forget about the atrocities that still happen every day all over the world.

In the vast majority of cases the women were targeted for reasons that had nothing to do with the occult and therefore don't form a cohesive minority group. However being burnt at the stake was a horrific way to die and imho it's misogynistic -or at the very least unfeeling -to find a depiction of a woman being burnt alive amusing or a selling point
This isn't targeting a group of people, its something fucked up that happened 100s of years ago. Its not the same thing

@AgapeLove those are not witches, they are people. Burning a 'witch' isn't a real thing its something uncivilized sexist communinities do sometimes in some kind of mass hysteria

Am glad there's the freedom of choice to not buy products one considers disagreeable then.
