How do you numb the pain?

Escapism. When I want to stop thinking about certain things I just add on to the ever growing story in my head. I have a character who was created by magic who is a human/Toad/Chameleon hybrid. He's a master thief who has special bracelets that can open portals to the void at will. He uses the portals to rapid fire magical daggers at foes. His name is Cameltoad. He also uses the void to store stuff that he's lifted.

After awhile it just burns itself out, and all I'm left with is the numbness.

Wish I knew. This illness is really triggering my phantom leg pain. It feels like someone driving a nail into the top of my missing ankle diagonally towards the heel while getting a Charlie horse at the same time. 😰
