I've voluntarily taken myself off the heavy pain meds.

We're talking oxycodone and big doses of codeine.
The hot/cold flushes have begun in earnest.
Body and joint pain.
Flu like symptoms.
Crawling sensations on the skin.
And I know all I can do is wait it out.
I don't have anyone to hold a cold compress to my brow or spoon feed me soup.
How's your day so far?

Is this pain medication you were taking a long term thing? If so, stopping suddenly can be seriously dangerous. Consult a physician.

Good. If the withdrawal symptoms get too bad, or your heart acts up - call someone.

Remember the bath tub. If you are hot you can add cold water, and if you are cold you can add hot water.

@4meAndyou Wish I had a bathtub. I've been crouching in the shower alternating between hot and cold.

@Cavedweller THAT stinks. You might want to detox in the hospital if you have insurance. They can help you with the symptoms, which are exactly like those of heroin withdrawal.
