I don't understand how so many people are unhappy?

Especially those with their basic needs met. We literally have "magical" windows or screens of many sizes that allow us to see images and worlds we only previously dreamed of. This all done at the click of a button or touch of a screen. So much option and access to content in 1st world countries and yet there are plenty or way too many miserable people? 🤔

"I'm bored"
Lack of real intimate relationships/friendships because of social media and being on screens all the time, a lot of disillusionment and apps like tinder pushing a culture of disposable people in a sense.

@Gh0s1 comes to show us that technology and materialism isn't everything. Whilst we advanced in systems and technology we may be lacking in psychological, emotional, and "spiritual" progress. Speaking of the species as a whole.
@Gh0s1 its amazing what that does. Not long ago I seen what I can assume a couple or just friends at a cafe who never talked to each other while I was there observing people. They where on their phones all that time.
I can only wonder that they where texting each other about what to order at this cafe.
They did walk in together and sat at the same table so could not be 2 random people using the same table.
@Robynthebeautiful Exactly, people should leave phones at home when they go out to do stuff like that. Talking to people that aren't even there when there's someone right in front of you. Connected to so many whilst not being connected at all. It's no substitute for the real thing.

@dark548 Yes, we've forgotten the basic needs of life and we're all feeling lost and meaningless as a result. If you really think, is there ever a time where you're not competely over stimulated anymore? I've started to meditate again and it's strange once you realise it's the first time in years you've actually allowed yourself a moment of clarity.

probably because none of that is actually emotionally fulfilling

@NewBeginnings7790 well for starters you have to make sure you're in the present moment when you watch something. You have to learn to read your moods and accurately treat yourself to some content best fit for the mood. In other words you must know what your craving is and how to satisfy it. Be an active watcher, contemplate on the show and use your imagination to further empathize with the stories.

It is because of this that I'm very selective of what I watch. I will mostly watch something if I feel it will be psychologically and emotionally beneficial.

@NewBeginnings7790 in other words go from a passive watcher to an active and purposeful watcher.

@dark548 I just don’t see how watching someknething is supposed to make someone happy. Bad things happen every day, experiencing both the ups and down of life are not something we can change by watching tv, or the Internet.

Happiness basically is a product of contentment. Contentment is the hardest to achieve.

@SW-User contentment is exactly the word I was thinking.

@morrgin Thank you, hun.❤

It doesn't help that many of the social apps and some of the games we play have neuroscientists, psychologists, etc. Working with the developers to create something with the intention of getting people addicted to them. We still have the choice though to stop looking at the screen and do something different.
Its way beyond just "im bored" for some people at least its so much more then that
dark548 · M
@silentkillx2 then what else?
@dark548 Sometimes bad things happen to people really bad things or they are lacking certain things in life that is important for happiniess for the most part such as friends and family or a lover..

So just beaucse someone has something such as a tv they shouldnt be unhappy? As if that Tv will cure what has been done to them or what they lack? Or how they feel inside?

@silentkillx2 hmm you have a point

Humans were build as social face to face vocal talking creatures, in 1st world countries, technologies are taking away the face to face and the vocal aspect and depression has been on the raise as a direct result.

The problem with the magical screens is that they often show a lifestyle and infer it can be yours ...
ScarletWitch · 26-30, F
It's all mental.
dark548 · M
@ScarletWitch I know right. Like the world is a paradise or or a misery depending on how you see it.
