Do you hold grudges?

I can hold a grudge with my life. I mean, if that girl that bullied me in 3rd grade ever tried to be friendly with me id call her out on it and demand an apology even then id still resent her... bye...

theres stuff you just cant forget nor forgive..

Sure you can
I took the beat downs as long as I lived under my Dads roof like he said I had to ,,
But when I returned from basic ,on my way to my new duty station
I didnt live under his roof anymore (I hadn't since I was almost 14 ,but out of respect I still listened to his rules until that night )
And I settled that bully crap once and for all .

Now I can run into them at the store 40 yrs later
And they speak to me ,nicely ,with a smile even

Old grudges only hurt you ,they are not giving you a second thought
Your the only one hurting
I fixed that ,then it was over

@NankerPhelge Brother you have to overlook my Grammar
I have been working since I was 13 supporting myself and others
I sucked in school so I quit ,I cheated off my future wife to get as far as I got ,so you would not be wrong to say in one sense you are dealing with a 9th grader who sucks when it comes to grammar ,but I can spell
Most people get it .or scroll on

What I meant was (thats probably not proper either but )
Was if you dwell on it ,you are the only one in pain
They move on to the next thing that gets their jollies and don't think of you again ,until the nest time they amuse themselves at your expense

If you would like ,you can proof read things I write ,mark my mistakes
Let me look it over and I'll do my best to get it right
Thats how I won medals in Revolution History
They could see I was a dumb ass ,but my composition was good and my facts and references were accurate ,so they marked my mistakes and let me write it again .I am willing to do that for you ,I think your a great guy
But stating the obvious ,my grammar sucks ,well its like screen doors on my boat
If you think I need them ,I'll put them on ,
But I have made this trip many times before ,and got by without them
But try to please everyone ,I'll add them screen doors if you say we need them .

@rckt148 "What I meant was if you dwell on it, you are the only one in pain"

That wasn't what you said in your earlier post.

@NankerPhelge no sir I broke it down and explained what I meant
I am dumb ,but I know there is more than one way to skin a cat
For you I tried harder ,,and I hope the screen door thing made you laugh
if you don't find me resourceful ,I hope you at least find me funny
Have a good one my friend ,always a pleasure

I’d love to hold them, but sadly I don’t have the capacity to do so, it’s literally about impossible for me to do so. 😂
Don't have time for grudges ... I just extract retribution and move on

I forgive and forget

forgive myself for ever knowing them, and forget they ever existed... 🤔
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@wildbill83 Definition 1 I learned in junior school. Definition 2 is a modern invention that wasn't in the dictionary when I was in school, so why should I recognise it? The word "you" is a personal pronoun. It is what it is.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@NankerPhelge because conversations would get extremely long and arduous if people had to define and explain the nuances of the English language every time they have a conversation with you... 🤔
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@wildbill83 Not necessarily. There are various ways of phrasing things that are less ambiguous and take no more time to say or type. In other words, it's not what you say, it's the way that you say it. Does that make sense to you? I'm sure it does.

the way some people make you feel is just like a scratch in the eyeball
it's a irritating feeling you wish will go away , sooner rather than later
I cannot hold grudges
I want the load I carry to be light

Bullies ruin lives, I understand why you despise your bully and do they really change? It's wired in their DNA.
I travel light in life ... I don't like a heavy load of hate and grudge on my shoulders when on the road ..

Im too tired to hold grudges. That will just make me feel worse.
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
Yes, I always have done. The most intense and longest-lasting grudges are for false accusation. Nothing in the universe makes me angrier and more unforgiving than false accusation. I forbid it in 1970 for a reason, and that reason is not all about me.

That's understandable ..... no i don't hold grudges, never needed one to begin with, they say forgiving is good, i can imagine that it's like quitting smoking or something like that. I dunno for real though.....:)

No. I'm never going to be that vindictive person. Because that is what grudge holders become.
I focus on my life, how to improve it. Not how to get back at someone else.
I believe in punishment delivered without anger and calculated according to the offence committed against me.

Some things I hold a grudge depending on what it was that happened. But usually I get over it like it never happened.
UnlikeableAndy · 36-40, M
I kinda agree. But I’m open to some people changing, have to see hard evidence though
Dusty101 · F
I do. Especially to those who don't want forgiveness.
SW-User
She'd probably apologize now. Kids are mean.
I don’t always hold a grudge. But I never forget. It’s how I protect myself.
