Do you hold grudges?

I can hold a grudge with my life. I mean, if that girl that bullied me in 3rd grade ever tried to be friendly with me id call her out on it and demand an apology even then id still resent her... bye...

theres stuff you just cant forget nor forgive..

I forgive and forget

forgive myself for ever knowing them, and forget they ever existed... 馃
NankerPhelge61-69, M
@wildbill83 How do you do that?
wildbill8336-40, M
@NankerPhelge experience, discipline, and emotional detachment...
NankerPhelge61-69, M
@wildbill83 I know what the first two words mean, but.... emotional detachment? What's that? That concept is entirely alien to me.
wildbill8336-40, M
lengthy grudges and resentment will eat you up and hollow you out, no one is worth that much thought...
wildbill8336-40, M
pragmatism, look at things for what they are; don't overthink them and/or let raw emotion influence your thoughts/actions. It is what it is...
NankerPhelge61-69, M
@wildbill83 I always look at things for what they are, I always have done since I was a child. Haven't you noticed the way I take everything literally on this site? Emotion influencing thoughts and actions is part of human nature. What can I do about that?
wildbill8336-40, M
I try to take things in stride, if you experience "emotional trauma" (for lack of a better term) long enough and frequently enough, eventually you sorta become numb to it. Hence, it is what it is, you can't change/reverse/undo/etc. it no matter how you "feel" about it.
NankerPhelge61-69, M
@wildbill83 The thing is, I can't. Why tell me how I feel or what I can or cannot do? You don't even know me, so how can you tell me how I feel? 馃
wildbill8336-40, M
@NankerPhelge I'm not telling you how you feel, I'm telling you, how you feel doesn't affect/influence how or what I "feel"; does that make sense?
NankerPhelge61-69, M
@wildbill83 You said "if you experience "emotional trauma" (for lack of a better term) long enough and frequently enough, eventually you sorta become numb to it. Hence, it is what it is, you can't change/reverse/undo/etc. it no matter how you "feel" about it". Who was that addressed to, if it wasn't addressed to me? I can't see who else it could have been addressed to. 馃
wildbill8336-40, M
@NankerPhelge no one, just a general statement
NankerPhelge61-69, M
@wildbill83 Then what's with all this "you" business? What was that all about? 馃
wildbill8336-40, M
@NankerPhelge you
yo蜑o,y蓹/
pronoun
pronoun: you

1.
used to refer to the person or people that the speaker is addressing.
"are you listening?"
used to refer to the person being addressed together with other people regarded in the same class.
"you Australians"
used in exclamations to address one or more people.
"you fools"
2.
used to refer to any person in general.
"after a while, you get used to it"
NankerPhelge61-69, M
@wildbill83 Definition 1 I learned in junior school. Definition 2 is a modern invention that wasn't in the dictionary when I was in school, so why should I recognise it? The word "you" is a personal pronoun. It is what it is.
wildbill8336-40, M
@NankerPhelge because conversations would get extremely long and arduous if people had to define and explain the nuances of the English language every time they have a conversation with you... 馃
NankerPhelge61-69, M
@wildbill83 Not necessarily. There are various ways of phrasing things that are less ambiguous and take no more time to say or type. In other words, it's not what you say, it's the way that you say it. Does that make sense to you? I'm sure it does.
