Some people think exercise after a meal will burn off those calories

But I think when you have a workout, it's going to burn off whatever you eat in the hours AFTER the work out. What do you think?

Shouldn't a person exercise before eating, that way the body will be needing the energy from food and break it down faster?

You can't burn calories you haven't ingested.
swandfriends · 41-45, F
Sure you can, the exercise gets your metabolism going so therefor it will burn what you eat next
katielass · F
@swandfriends It burns what you have already eaten.

You are correct. After exercise, your metabolism stays elevated for a period of time. The length of time it stays elevated and to what degree depends on the kind of exercise you did, the duration and intensity.

The best way to burn fat, however is to do cardiovascular exercise immediately after waking before eating anything. That's when blood sugar levels are lowest.

It's an old bodybuilder trick

I think working out on a full stomach is mental
