Some people think exercise after a meal will burn off those calories

But I think when you have a workout, it's going to burn off whatever you eat in the hours AFTER the work out. What do you think?

You are correct. After exercise, your metabolism stays elevated for a period of time. The length of time it stays elevated and to what degree depends on the kind of exercise you did, the duration and intensity.

The best way to burn fat, however is to do cardiovascular exercise immediately after waking before eating anything. That's when blood sugar levels are lowest.
