What was the greatest invention?

The written word.

Kinda dependent on the spoken word, but yeah - writing shit down is important and valuable, Pickleman

@hlpflwthat The written word represents the dawn of enlightenment.
Suddenly you could record ideas; news; maps etc. people could see worlds beyond their own.

Fortunately(usually) dawn comes every day. Can you imagine the first stories 'told?' Can you imagine the handicap for a clan that couldn't communicate against one that could? Just playing a lil gadfly. Forgive me? Your point is well-taken.

Together, language and the written word - and electricity for that matter - have launched more dawns and enlightenment, bringing us all together here today. Hope you enjoy your Tuesday.

None. All the major inventions by Homo sapiens made life more complicated. We were a less technologicall dependent species before then. Nothing had changed from the hunter gatherer way of life. Happier, little change through millennia, and a more mentally healthy society consisting of small clans of hominids working cooperatively. A simple, happy, shorter life so no Alzheimer's, and no need to plan for a time when you were unable to provide for yourself or outlive your money. Living in the present rather than the future.

We overevolved as a species.
😊 Human beings, if it wasn't for them where would you and I be now? 8)

@hlpflwthat This is just some 'puter nerd's greedscheme. It hurts people more than it helps. At best a waste of time.

@hunkalove Yet here you are, Mr Time Waster?

I was talking about electricity. Thanks for playing.

My second answer this was :0 I cycled a total of 14 miles in just under 2 hours. Coming back was easy all downhill. But walk 7 miles will take ages! So cycling's better.
😊 @Sazzio I think that walking 14 miles at 7 miles an hour would be a bit exhausting even if it was all down hill. 8)
